OTF – Nimble Product for Hard Work.

The Orbital Thrust Frame (“OTF”) is a technology standard developed by The Axiom Corporation to aid the many and varied needs found within modern deep space mining facilities. A compact lifting vehicle with room for a single pilot, the OTF combines simple controls, an exceptional thrust to weight ratio, and a single high capacity type-2 graviton based lifting mechanism – typically referred to as ‘the grapple’ by the miners who use them.

The OTF design’s near perfect balance of light weight, impressive thrust, and uncompromised handling have made it an instant hit amongst deep space mining warriors. Newbie pilots love the OTF for its ease of control and forgiving nature, while more experienced pilots appreciate the depth and finesse that can be coaxed from its chassis when pushing the envelope. Many pilots rave about the single-stick control of engine output power, thrust direction vectoring, and natural reverse brake venting. They describe feeling as though there is a direct connection between their nerve center and the machine.

The lifting mechanism on the OTF is unique for this vehicle’s size, a tightly focused type-2 quantum graviton beam whose capabilities are limited only by the target material type and radius of effect from the point of focus. The graviton output cavity is a fixed frequency type, which enables its ultra-compact design, and comes at the minor caveat that it is pre-tuned to have maximum grapple effect on materials with atomic weights close to those most commonly manipulated within a typical mining environment.

Beam target selection is fully automatic and utilizes selection algorithms that feel completely natural to the pilot. On rare occasions where manual override may be desired, it is always available by simply moving the right control stick in the direction of the desired target, the head up display highlights the appropriate object for positive feedback. Beam power switching is handled by use of a trigger toggle button on the pilots controller. High power SCR’s then amplify the control signal to drive the beam generator.

While most owner operated OTF pilots opt to customize the look of their vehicles, all are based on a standard chassis in order to comply with deep space mining safety regulations . The Axiom Corporation regularly performs random testing to ensure that every OTF used within its mining facilities adheres to stringent safety regulations.

I want one of those ships! looks like a millennium falcon turned on it's side, but more curvy.

What's it carrying? It looks like the box from Hellraiser!

Looks interesting guys. I wonder if any of you have played Cosmic Rift or Subspace before, those games were overhead space shooters with some basic physics. AxiomOverdrive could benefit with a similar style of online multiplayer, which is a huge draw on XBLA games these days.

I think they got a lot of traffic from the IGF announcement. Is ok now.
